When we first got there, there was a line going all the way back to the woods and we could tell it was going to sell out so we skipped a bunch of kids and got in right before it supposedly sold out. When we got there Haste The Day had already played but I hear that I did not miss very much. Anyhoo, Dead Poetic was setting up and I watched most of their set which wasn't too shabby but I felt kind of bad for him because it seemed as though he were trying to talk the crowd into dancing for him but it just wasn't working out but they got somewhat of a reaction. After that Beloved came on and I watched a few songs from them before walking down to the gas station to get me some refreshment and a light snack and met this group of kids who had come all the way up from Columbia, SC to get some tattoos and they needed directions to Independence Blvd. so I gladly assisted them while talking about the bands that were playing. When I got back to Tremont, Beloved played just a couple more songs then Underoath came on and I decided to get some pit action going on for a little bit but soon after I realized that dancing STILL isn't my thing I just resorted to pushing myself as close to the stage as I could while at the same time clapping along with everyone which the band seemed to love. However, when the set was pretty much over I felt at my belt loop for the keys and felt my heart sink when I realized that........I could feel no keys so in a panic I walked out to the lobby to gather my thoughts together but when I looked down I realized that I had put the keys on a different belt loop than usual so I was relieved and then I looked over at the wall and saw some pretty cool posters up on the wall so I took some down as souvenirs but I accidentally grabbed a rufio poster in the mix so if you know anyone that likes them then let me know and I will gladly hand over the Rufio poster. Anyhoo, I took the posters out to the car and came back in to watch Norma Jean play a few songs and I liked how they had a light show and a film playing on the background but I quickly learned that most of their songs seemed to sound the same but alot of other people seemed to enjoy throwing down to them so to each their own but I was tired from Underoath so I just retired to the car and chatted on the cell till the rest of the kids came out when the show was almost over so we could leave. After that is when the night took a turn for the worse... On our way home when I was looking for the exit for us to get back onto 74 I was listening to West and Jessie talking about the show and missed the exit to 74 East and turned onto 74 West instead for some reason I still havent figured out. Anyhoo, I figured I would just be able to get off of an exit and just go right across and come out the other side so I would be going West but NOOOOOOO....the geniouses that designed the roads in Charlotte just decided to stick a one way street going the opposite way of where I was wanting to go so I decided I had no choice but to modify, but no matter which way I went there was always a random one-way sign keeping me from going the way I wanted to go so we somehow end up at Ericsson stadium so I let the kids out so they can goof off for a bit while I scout the area to see if I could find South Blvd. really quick but after about 10 minutes I took a u-turn and went back for them. So here we are at about 12:30 going around our damn elbows in the ghettos of Charlotte so instead of spending hours getting lost further into oblivion I decided to pull over and ask for directions. It just so happened that at the gas station I turned into I was the only white person that was not wearing the golden badge of courage and some firepower. Anyhoo, I pulled open the door even though it looked like it was a military base because all the windows had a cage type deal around them but I just asked for the way and they kindly helped me out and I was on my way again going the right way this time in only 30 minutes. After that, I went ahead and stopped at Taco Bell since they were still open at that time of night and then we dropped West off since his dad was being kind of weird about the whole deal and then we went over to Weddington to drop Natalie off. On the way back we realized that the roads in Weddington look really creepy late at night because in alot of parts there is hardly any light and a bunch of tall grass and trees lining the road...it kind of reminded me of Jeepers Creepers. Anyhoo, me and jessie were finally on our way home and it was about 2 and so I looked down at the gas needle and saw that the drive to and from charlotte and to weddington had put a hurting on it so I decided to stop at the On The Run Station right there off 74 outside of my hood. After I got my gas it was about 2:30 and I looked at the intersection and saw that noone was anywhere in site so I just went ahead and merged onto the road and look in my mirror and a police officer was in my mirror. After being scared out of my mind we finally got back to the hood a little bit after 2:30 and get on my street finally ready to call it a night. However, to my ghastly horror I found that the parental units had decided to come home a day early and I was out driving on my last week of having the 9 o'clock curfew on my license. So to keep from getting in trouble we roll past the house and start wondering where we are going to spend the night because it isn't exactly like you can just call someone at close to 3 in the morning and ask if you can crash at their place because somehow that just doesn't come across too well so being that it was Easter Sunday and the only place that I could think of that was open was WAL-MART who is open 24/7 so we rolled up to the wally world, parked the car, walked in to the section with all the couch chairs and I crashed for a few hours while jessie read a book and told anyone who wanted to know about us that we had been driving from florida, lying is bad. Anyhoo, after a little bit of rest and a Red Bull to get the day started I finally came home and started working on my term paper which is taking forever and I don't think it is going to turn out very well but this is a heck of a way to end Spring Break. Kudos to all the kids coming back from the beach it's probably a long trip today.... *this is just now getting posted because I had to finish a few parts of it because i was being lazy* That is all for now.
